Official Inauguration of BUMC showroom

The official inauguration of BUMC new showroom was held on June 7, 2001 at Hazmieh, Damascus Road, under the patronage of his Excellency Mr. Fouad Siniora, Minister of Finance, his excellency the Ambassador of Japan, Mr. Naoto Amaki. and Mr. Kunio Komada, General Manager of TOYOTA Motor Corporation - Japan. 

Messrs. Fred, Pierre & Samir Boustany warmly welcomed over 1500 guests and local officials who attended the event.

The evening was entertained by a live band and was animated with light effects, allowing the guests to admire the all-new RAV4 & the Corolla models that were exposed.

Visitors get latest models, plus financing opportunities

The 2002 Lebanon Motor Show, which opened its doors to the public last week, is vying to be the Middle East's undisputed car exposition by offering a host of new-model cars. To this end, exhibitors are presenting the latest models and showcasing the technologies of tomorrow in an effort to lure potential buyers. 

The motor show began Thursday at the Beirut International Exhibition and Leisure Center. It was co-organized by the Association of Lebanese Car Importers, which groups together 32 local members representing 62 different vehicle manufacturers.

Lebanon Motorshow 2004: Toyota & Lexus booths stand out!

This year again, BUMC exposed its line-up of Toyota and Lexus models at the LEBANON MOTORSHOW 2004, which was held at the Biel Center from November 11th till 22nd.

Spinneys chooses Toyota for its early promotion

Toyota Prius the first Hybrid car in Lebanon

BUMC, the exclusive distributor of Toyota and Lexus in Lebanon, gave an enriching awareness presentation by Mr. Salim Wakim, sales department at BUMC to LAU students, during which students were briefed on the miracles of the Hybrid Technology, with fuel-efficient and environmentally-friendly cars.

Toyota’s PRIUS is a Latin word meaning “to go before”. Toyota had chosen this name specifically because the PRIUS vehicle is the predecessor of cars to come. PRIUS is a combined hybrid that can be propelled by gasoline and/or electric power. 

All sorts of important questions were raised, including how much can hybrid cars affect CO2 emission; how do hybrid cars help reduce global warming; and, last but not least, how important is the potential of hybrid cars energy saving. 

BUMC Wrapped Up the Year with its Annual Sales Retreat

Jeita Grotto Concert to support the Seven Wonders Contest

The Jeita Grotto concert was organized by BUMC, through the ALJCBL (Association of Lebanese & Japanese Cultural & Business Leaders) and Sacotel-Panasonic to support the Jeita Grotto voting for the seven wonders contest. 
The beautifully lit stalactites and stalagmites on the upper cavern of the grotto provided a spectacular backdrop for the evening’s concert by the International Lebanese-Armenian pianist and composer Guy Manoukian and his ensemble featuring Princess Maguy Abillamah on the pan-pipes. 

Miss Lebanon Rosarita Tawil gave the opening speech. The audience was then treated to an hour-long recital that included a combination of traditional Lebanese pieces, as well as a selection of Manoukian's own compositions, including the works "Peace" and "Freedom". It was followed by a sumptuous cocktail reception. 

The event was held as part of the campaign to designate the Jeita Grotto as one of the new seven natural wonders of the world. 
The audience was ferried from the entrance to the mouth of the grotto in the small "train" that services the site. The approximately 300-person crowd included notable figures such as His Excellency Tourism Minister Elie Marouni, his Excellency Japanese Ambassador Yoshihisa Kuroda, Poet Henry Zgheib, Ballet international leader and star Georgette Gebara, just to name a few.

Japan through Lebanese Eyes

In collaboration with "Lebajica", the Lebanese-Japanese Cultural and Business Leaders' Association organized a contest for "Best Painting", under the theme of "Japan In The Eyes Of The Lebanese". Students, aged 12 to 14, coming from various public and private schools took part in the competition, expressing their different views about Japanese culture through drawings that stunned the audience.

A Vehicle Gift to the Lebanese Red Cross

Mr. Dany Abla and his wife offered the Lebanese Red Cross (LRC) all the revenues of their wedding list, in a humanitarian initiative that contributes to buying a van vehicle for the First Aid and Emergency teams. In addition, BUMC, the exclusive distributor of Toyota in Lebanon, represented by Dr. Fred G. Boustany, President and CEO, and Mr. Pierre Boustany, Vice-President, offered the coverage of the remaining amount of the vehicle's price. 

On this occasion, everybody was invited to the BUMC'ss showroom in Verdun, to deliver the car. The LRC was represented by Ms. Rosy Boulos, Head of First Aid Teams Department, Mr. Georges Kettaneh, Director of the First Aid Teams, and Mr. Ayad el Mounzer, the director of Public Relations and Communication Department, in addition to a number of first aiders.

During the event, the LRC's role was highly praised, and the volunteers' efforts were appreciated, all the more that they carry out a humanitarian mission that reaches all the people in need on all the Lebanese territory. Also were thanked all the people who help the LRC in implementing its activities aiming at preserving the human dignity.

Toyota unveils new road safety technologies

Toyota Motor Corporation, the world’s leading car maker, has unveiled technologies aimed at increasing road safety, particularly for pedestrians and drivers.

The new technologies are in response to alarming data about the growing proportion of pedestrians who are killed in traffic accidents as well as the high incidence of night-time fatalities.

A U.S. government investigation ordered by the department of Transport & Executed by N.A.S.A. cleared Toyota Motor Corp's electronics of causing unintended acceleration, a big victory for the world's top automaker. The findings supported Toyota's position that it had identified and fixed the only known safety problems related to two massive recalls in 2009 and 2010. Regulators say driver error may be behind many complaints. Ray Lahood the U.S. secretary of transport has even declared that he advised his daughter to purchase a Toyota “Sienna”. Taking on the perilous mountains of Sannine with FJ Cruiser

More than 20 participants were at the gathering point In Jounieh where the journey began. Seventeen members of the BUMC Sports division, GT86 Club competed to win an all expense paid trip to Yas Marina Circuit to attend the Yas Drift School. All participants showed tremendous talent and true passion for their GT86s. The daylong event began at Zalka showroom at 8AM where participants were treated to a complimentary breakfast and quick briefing. After the breakfast, all GT86’s drove in a convoy to Pitstop Circuit in Zouk where the competition took place followed by a lunch BBQ. To demonstrate the full potential of the GT86 and proper drifting techniques, BUMC invited 2013 Red Bull Car Park Drift Champion Jad Himo who drifted in a GT86 equipped with TRD parts.Although all participants showed some serious skills, there were three winners. 3rd place was awarded to Jad Naamani followed by 2nd place winner Pierre Rizkallah Maalouf. 1st place was awarded to Jean Paul Maalouf who had two perfect runs displaying skill and confidence behind his GT86. Originally, BUMC had planned to only send one winner to Yas Marina Circuit; however, due to the three top winners’ talent and great drifting all three will be sent to Yas Marina Circuit. The top three winners were also given special prizes from Michelin and all GT86 Club members were given a free oil change from Total. The top three weren’t the only winners; three female participants were each awarded $250 for participating and representing the female community of GT86 drivers. FJ Cruiser Off-Road Adventure

BUMC, the exclusive distributor for Toyota and Lexus in Lebanon, hosted an FJ Cruiser Off-Road Adventure for its IFJ Club, a division of the ToyotaSports Club on August 25th, 2013. Around 50 FJ Cruisers attended and participated in this event. The day began at BUMC’s Zalka showroom where participants ate breakfast and were given a briefing of the day ahead. IFJ members then proceeded in a convoy to Zaarour where the off-roading began and the internationally acclaimed FJ Cruiser proved its off-roading abilities and fine tuned suspension. Members were then led on an over 10 KM off-roading adventure ascending to the top of Faraya by an experienced off-road instructor, who led the way up petrous mountains to the summit. The rocky adventure was followed by a pit-stop lunch invitation at La Cabane in Ouyoun Al Siman where participants were treated to a traditional Lebanese BBQ. Through hosting these types of events, BUMC emphasizes its identity as a customer-oriented company and pledges to continue to fuel the passion of FJ Cruiser enthusiasts through events like this. BUMC & FSC Tyre Toyota Facility Inauguration

BUMC, the exclusive distributor of Toyota in Lebanon, with conjunction with Fares South Car (FSC) held an inauguration reception on December 16th. The FSC showroom, located on Hosh Street next to Spinney’s, features a modern and spacious showroom displaying Toyota’s lineup of 4X4s, passenger cars, and commercial vehicles. The showroom is also adjacent to a state-of-art service center that strictly abides by international quality standards set by TMC, as well as a center for Toyota Genuine Parts. The Toyota facility in Tyre sprawls throughout a spacious 2,000 sq. meters. 

Religious, political officials, as well as VIP and local residents attended the inauguration reception held on a crisp afternoon in December. Dr. Fred Boustany President and CEO and Mr. Nabil Fares, owner of FSC welcomed the attendees and were delighted to unveil the new facility in Tyre. 

Dr. Boustany congratulated Mr. Fares on behalf of BUMC’s board, and stated, “The opening of the Toyota Center in Tyre in partnership with FSC is an act of faith taken by TToyota distributor, BUMC. FJ Cruiser Off-Road Adventure (April 2014)

BUMC, the exclusive distributor of Toyota & Lexus in Lebanon, hosted the IFJ Club on an all-day off-road adventure in Ehden. The day started at 8AM at the Zalka branch where all members were treated to a breakfast and were given a brief. After, over 60 FJ Cruisers proceeded in a convoy from Zalka to Ehden where the off-road took place. Members were then led on a 2 and a half hour off-roading adventure ascending to over 2000 meters above sea level. After off-roading in the majestic mountains of Ehden, BUMCtreated the IFJ Club to a lunch invitation at Rabieh Restaurant in Ehden.

Safety Training Seminar

As part of its safety program to its staff, BUMC organized with the Lebanese Civil Defense a seminar which was held on Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th, September 2014 at BUMC head office in Hazmieh. The seminar was important to be held in the new headquarter, where the staff of the company learnt how to protect themselves as well as the customers that might be in the premises in case of fire. The staff was divided into groups of 6 to 8 people so that they can benefit more from the session.

In appreciation for the excellent performance and hard work of the entire BUMC family - the top management held a Staff Holiday Party on December 19, 2015. 

The party included a seated lunch catered by BouBouffe complete with two shawarma stands of chicken and beef. 

During the event, two staff members were announced as ‘Employee of the Year’ as voted by the entire BUMC family. Mrs. Silvana Mattar, Assistant Head of the Quality Assurance and Customer Satisfaction department earned the distinction as her colleagues noted her teamwork spirit, high work ethics and flexibility. 

Mr. Jihad Lakkis, General Service Manager, also received the ‘Employee of the Year’ award as he was commended for his expertise and leadership within the Service department. The decision of 'Employee of the Year' was a difficult one because many deserved to be recognized for their decision and efforts in 2015. Yet the combined efforts of many great people make BUMC what it is today – a company with high quality standards, ethics, and excellent service. 

The Award Ceremony was followed by a BUMC Talent Show where staff members were invited to take part in a singing contest judged by a panel of their colleagues. 

Overall, the party was a special occasion to celebrate the achievements of the BUMC family.

The GAZOO Racing (GR) World Rally Team (WRT) continued its outstanding start to the season with a dominant performance at the recent Rally Sweden. Elfyn Evans took the top spot during his second time behind the wheel of the No. 33 Toyota Yaris WRC. He was joined on the podium by 19-year-old rookie sensation Kalle Rovanperä, who came out ahead in the No. 69 Toyota Yaris WRC to claim third place following a thrilling battle with his world champion team-mate Sébastien Ogier in the No. 17 Toyota Yaris WRC.
