BankMed joins hands with BUMC to offer the Lebanese Minister of Environment a ToyotaPrius

BankMed and BUMC presented on Wednesday June 30, 2010 the first environmentally friendly hybrid Toyota PRIUS to the Ministry of Environment to encourage the use of carbon free cars in Lebanon.<br /><br />The Minister of Environment Mohamad Rahhal received the car in a ceremony attended by BankMed officials, Dr. Fred G. Boustany President &amp; C.E.O of BUMC, Toyota exclusive distributors in Lebanon &amp; Mr. Pierre Boustany C.O.O of BUMC.<br /><br /><br />

Commenting on the generous gift granted by BankMed to the Ministry of Environment, Minister Rahhal thanked BankMed & BUMC for their continuous efforts and support over the years, and extended his thanks to those concerned for the environment. Dr. Fred G. Boustany shared with the attendees the benefits of the hybrid car, which include: a 90% decreased usage of carbon; 50% less consumption of fuel with one tank allowing the car to travel 450 Km/20 Liter and lastly the decrease in noise pollution by 6.4 decibels.

More over Dr. Boustany presented the historical background of the ToyotaPrius being the first ever Hybrid car to be launched by Toyota back in 1996 and which is today in its third generation. Dr. Boustany informed the present that Toyota now produces the biggest line-up of Hybrid cars and announced the launching of Lexus LS600h the most Luxurious Hybrid car in the Lebanese market. 

BUMC vows to continue striving towards importing to Lebanon Hybrid eco friendly cars as the Lebanese environment matters most.
