1. A vehicle that allows people to go anywhere and everywhere, continually refined over more than 70 years.
Originally launched as the Toyota BJ on August 1, 1951, the Land Cruiser series is now 72 years old. Immediately after its launch, it became the first vehicle to climb up to the sixth station of Mount Fuji. Since this historic achievement, it has fulfilled its mission of delivering safety and security to all types of people in places that can only be accessed in the Land Cruiser. Developed based on the actual usage situations of global customers, it has continually evolved in terms of reliability, durability, and off-road performance, demonstrating its prowess as a truly dynamic vehicle.
One of three series which includes the Heavy Duty Station Wagon known as LC300 and the Land Cruiser Pick-Up known as LC70, the Land Cruiser Light Duty model “PRADO” is designed to keep drivers safe and reassured.

2. “PRADO” Series embodies the essence of the Land Cruiser as a versatile choice for customers
As the generations have passed, the Light Duty series has tended to shift to the high-end, luxury lines. During development of the “PRADO” Series, Akio Toyoda, who was the person given ultimate responsibility for the product, explained his basic approach as the following: “The Land Cruiser should be a vehicle that supports people’s lives and local communities, so the Light Duty model must return to the true form that customers are looking for.” In response, the development team defined the model’s new concept as a return to the roots of the Land Cruiser and created a vehicle that is simple, sturdy and a versatile option for various customers’ lifestyles.

The new “PRADO” Series is a core Land Cruiser model with the same GA-F platform as the “300” Series (Current Land Cruiser Model in the region) to drastically improve basic performance as an off-roader. It also comes equipped with various powertrains to achieve even more powerful performance worthy of the Land Cruiser name. It was made to accentuate Land Cruiser’s unique characteristics, incorporating interior and exterior styling that fuses new and refined features into a versatile package. The aim was to create a new-generation Land Cruiser with improved ease of handling and comfort for both on and off-road driving, while also delivering class-leading advanced safety performance.

With the “PRADO” Series release, the Land Cruiser will continue to evolve while meeting a range of needs and remaining a trusted choice for customers worldwide.

Improved on-road and off-road driving performance through adoption of the following systems:
Electric power steering (EPS): Helps reduce loss of steering control when driving off-road, provides a crisper steering feel, improves maneuverability at low speeds and enables Lane Tracing Assist
